SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR HOLIDAY & TRAVEL SHOWS 2008
· Celebrating its 16th consecutive year
· More than 300 exhibitors already signed up
· Partnership agreed with the Daily Telegraph

John Fish Exhibitions Ltd announces today the details of The Holiday & Travel Shows for 2008. The exhibitions, scheduled to take place in both Manchester Central and Glasgow's SECC, will feature new and improved exhibits and aims to build on its position as the UK's leading holiday and travel exhibition.

This year's show will celebrate its 16th consecutive year and be held in Association with the Daily Telegraph. To celebrate this milestone, John Fish Exhibitions aims to beat last year's visitor attendance figures of more 120,000 visitors across the two locations and attract an even greater number of exhibitors.

Already more than 300 hundred exhibitors from more than 50 countries have signed up to attend the shows and it is forecast that more than 800 exhibitors from 100 countries will be represented in total. The exhibitors range from tour operators and travel agents, to airlines, tourist information organisations and places of special interest.

John Fish, managing director, of the Holiday & Travel Shows, comments; “It is important to keep evolving in the competitive travel sector and we work hard to ensure our exhibitions reflect this. As a result, we have already had a large number of exhibitors book space and we are confident that with some of the fantastic initiatives we have in place this year, the shows will be our biggest and best yet.”

As a further opportunity for exhibitors, this year's Holiday & Travel Shows will feature Travel Talks Theatres in which exhibitors will be able to personally present, or show videos, giving details on various travel insights and ideas, as well as give visitors the opportunity to learn and ask questions about specific holiday destinations.

The Travel Temptations Zones will also be returning to give exhibitors the chance to show off the wealth of cultural, musical or culinary delights from their regions or countries. The Travel Temptation Zones were particularly popular as they gave visitors a fantastic opportunity to experience the different cultures through music, singing and dancing, art and craft displays and regional food and wine tasting - before they book their holidays.

The shows are designed to be a fun day out for the whole family and will provide a range of children's entertainment including; face painting, Marco the Clown entertainer, sand pits to play in and deck chairs for parents to sit back and relax in.

John Fish continues; “The last few years have been particularly hard for the travel and tourism business, but by providing an environment where travel and tourism industry representatives can meet face-to-face with a high quality targeted audience then there is a real opportunity for the sector to continue to grow.”

The Holiday & Travel Show Manchester will be held at Manchester Central (formerly GMEX) from 11th to 13th January 2008 and the Glasgow Holiday & Travel Show will be held at the SECC from 18th to 20th January 2008 (opening times 10 am - 5 pm).
